The FA Charter Standard Programme has supported the growth and sustainability of clubs nationwide and as such provides a framework for rewarding and recognising clubs, which meet on and off pitch criteria demonstrating good governance and FA qualified coaches with youth teams.
Frodsham JFC hold the highest possible accreditation of being an FA Charter Standard Community Club which we have held now for almost 5 years and something we are very proud of.
The FA Club Programme (FACP) main aim is to create the best places for people to play and enjoy football, and the FA are investing in this programme to get teams there. The opportunities provided by clubs like Frodsham JFC for our community have significantly increased over the last 10 years, something the FA have recognised in embarking on a journey to expand the range of relevant support services. This will primarily be achieved by evolving the existing FA Charter Standard Programme into a new club accreditation framework by 2020/21.
Frodsham JFC was privileged and excited when nominated and subsequently accepted to join the FA Club Programme 2019-20 Pilot in September 2019. This really demonstrates the Club’s success and stature within the North West of England, a club which strives to provide the best possible football experience and a club which can contribute and shape the future national programme.
The FACP will see over £28m investment per annum into both facility investment and club infrastructure investment in administrators, coaches and alignment to professional support to transform clubs into sustainable community businesses.
The pilot programme provides a range of opportunities for Frodsham JFC including:
- Mentoring and support from a dedicated FA Club Consultant that will provide an objective view the club and strengthen the existing FJFC Business plan, allowing us to identify key areas of focus.
- Access to professional services to help FJFC achieve its vision.
- A chance to network and share ideas and best practice from like-minded clubs.
- Access to best practice tools and resources.
- Extra FA Coach Mentoring to strengthen our existing club coaching philosophy.
- Knowledge and opportunities gained from working closely with the FA team support the programme.
The FACP has revised criteria and there is an emphasis on providing services different clubs need to be relevant to the football they provide for their communities. The model is based on being either a 1-, 2- or 3-Star Accredited Club.
Frodsham JFC are well positioned again to be awarded the title of being a 3-Star FA Club Programme Accredited Club. Something we as a Club, a group of dedicated volunteers and you as a community should be very proud of.
